Special bus service returns for the annual PNE Fair
2-for-1 TransLink Fridays and special offers back at event
VANCOUVER, BC – TransLink is making it easier to get to the 115th PNE Fair with the return of special bus service, which had more than 37,000 boardings last year. From August 16 to September 1, extra bus service will provide direct access to and from the fairgrounds.
The 16 PNE Special bus details:
- Service between 29th Avenue Station (Expo Line), Renfrew Station (Millennium Line), and the Pacific Coliseum.
- Every 15 minutes in each direction during fair days.
- First bus will leave 29th Avenue Station at 9:34 a.m. each morning.
- Buses will leave Renfrew Station at 9:41 a.m.
- Last bus will leave the Pacific Coliseum at 12:10 a.m. each weeknight and 12:07 a.m. each weekend.
In addition to the 16 PNE Special, there are many regular bus routes available with service near the PNE Fair:
- 14 Hastings/UBC
- 16 29th Avenue Station/Arbutus
- R5 Hastings St RapidBus
- 210 Upper Lynn Valley/Burrard Station
- 211 Seymour/Burrard Station
To encourage more people to take transit to the festivities, TransLink and the PNE Fair are again offering discounted admission on Fridays. On August 22 and 29, customers can show their Compass Card, or proof of fare, at the entrance gates for two-for-one admission. This offer is available for the first 5,000 customers.
TransLink, presented in collaboration with Interac Corp., will have exhibits at the PNE Fair. This summer tradition features concerts, food, attractions, and welcomes more than 750,000 guests each year.
TransLink highlights at this year’s fair:
- Special offers and chances to win PNE Summer Night Concert tickets.
- Go inside a popular double-decker bus and get a photo in the operator’s seat.
- A vintage 1957 bus preserved by the Transit Museum Society.
Hop on the TransLink-themed PNE Express Train for a ride through the fairgrounds. Some exclusive TransLink trading cards are also available at this year’s PNE Fair. These free limited-edition collector’s items feature five different designs representing the iconic transit fleet. Cards will be limited to one per person while supplies last.
This summer, TransLink has teamed up with local businesses offering exclusive discounts for transit riders. Show your Compass Card or same-day fare to unlock offers across the region. Customers can also explore Metro Vancouver with TransLink’s self-guided, transit-friendly tours. Pick up a Transit Passport inside the TransLink Zone at the PNE, collect a stamp, and enter to win a year of free transit. More details can be found at translink.ca/tours.
