    Collect Stamps

    To collect a stamp, show your Compass Card or proof of same-day fare at the point of sale (e.g., checkout counter) at participating tour stops, or find us at community events.

    If a tour stop doesn’t offer a stamp, take a photo at the location and include it with your entry. Just make sure no people are visible in the image.

    Once you've collected three or more stamps, take a photo of your completed Transit Passport and upload it below by September 30, 2025, to enter the Next Stop: Summer Contest.

BY ENTERING THE TRANSLINK NEXT STOP: SUMMER CONTEST (THE “CONTEST”), THE ENTRANT AGREES TO BE BOUND BY ALL THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CONTAINED IN THESE CONTEST RULES.     ELIGIBILITY AND PARTICIPATION

    To be eligible for the Contest, an individual must be (a) a legal resident of the Province of British Columbia, and (b) 19 years of age or older at the time of entry.

    Employees of the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority (“TransLink”), its subsidiaries, and their respective promotion and advertising agencies, as well as family members of such employees, and household members who reside at the same address as such employees are not eligible for the Contest.

    The Contest is void where prohibited by law.

    HOW TO ENTER AND CONTEST DEADLINES

    The Contest will open on June 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) and will close on September 30, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. PT (the “Contest Period”).

    Entry by visiting participating tour stops

    DIY Tours

    TransLink has designed a series of self-guided tours across Metro Vancouver for locals and visitors to follow on transit (“DIY Tours”).  The DIY Tours feature local attractions, restaurants, cultural centres such as museums and galleries, and businesses promoting active transportation, such as bike rental shops in Metro Vancouver (“Participating Tour Stops”).  Some of the Participating Tour Stops will be offering discounts or value-add offers to customers who show valid proof of using public transportation to the Participating Tour Stop that day.  A map of each DIY Tour with directions, details of Participating Tour Stops and offers available from Participating Tour Stops can be found here: https://www.translink.ca/tours  

    DIY Tours Passport

    For individuals wishing to take the DIY Tours, TransLink has created a  Passport called “Transit Passport – The city’s best spots – just a transit ride away!” (the “Contest Passport”).  A Contest Passport may be obtained, free of charge, at the following locations:

    A Contest Passport may also be available from the TransLink outreach team at other festivals or events in Metro Vancouver during the Contest Period where TransLink is a sponsor.

    A copy of the Contest Passport can also be downloaded from TransLink’s website:  https://www.translink.ca/tours (the “Contest Site”).

    Collection of DIY Tours Passport Stamps and Stickers

    Customers who show to a Participating Tour Stop valid proof of using Public Transportation the same day as visiting the Participating Tour Stop will be eligible to receive a stamp or sticker in their Contest Passport from the Participating Tour Stop.  Public transportation means transportation in Metro Vancouver by TransLink bus, SeaBus, SkyTrain, HandyDART or West Coast Express (“Public Transportation”).  The following constitute valid proof of Public Transportation:

    • A valid Compass Card
    • A ticket or pass for any form of Public Transportation the same day
    • A digital payment receipt for any form of Public Transportation the same day, such as one shown from a banking app
    • A photo of the customer on Public Transportation that day (in the same outfit, for example)

    It is at the discretion of each Participating Tour Stop to determine valid proof of Public Transportation based on the criteria set out above.

    Documenting Visits to Participating Tour Stops

    To be eligible to enter the Contest, entrants must visit at least three (3) Participating Tour Stops during the Contest Period and document that they have visited a Participating Tour Stop by either:

    • collecting a branded stamp or sticker of the Participating Tour Stop in their Contest Passport collected directly from such Participating Tour Stop during the Contest Period; or
    • while at the Participating Tour Stop, take a photograph of the Participating Tour Stop.  Entrants must ensure such photographs capture the Participating Tour Stop only and do not capture identifiable individuals 

    Entry Process for Visiting Participating Tour Stops

    To then enter the Contest, entrants must complete the online entry form through the Contest Site and, following the instructions on the Contest Site, upload the documents to show they visited at least three (3) Participating Tour Stops during the Contest Period:  either a photo of their  Contest Passport with valid stamps/stickers; or the photograph(s) taken by the entrant at the Participating Tour Stop(s); or a combination of the Contest Passport with valid stamps/stickers and photograph(s) taken by the entrant at the Participating Tour Stop(s).

    To complete the online entry form, entrants must provide the entrant’s name, email address, phone number, the documents described above to demonstrate the entrant visited at least three (3) Participating Tour Stops during the Contest Period, together with the other information, if any, required to complete the entry form (the “Online Entrants”). Your phone number will only be used to contact you if you are a selected as a winner. The online entry form must be completed and submitted during the Contest Period.

    Photographs must be submitted in PNG or JPEG format and must be no more than 25mb.

    Photographs must be original photographs of a Participating Tour Stop taken by the entrant at the Participating Tour Stop during the Contest Period. Photographs must not capture identifiable individuals including friends, family and bystanders.

    Entry without purchase: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, entrants may download and print an entry form and deliver (by mail or other delivery) the completed entry form, including the entrant’s name, phone number and email address, to: TransLink Head Office, Attention:  Marketing, 400 – 287 Nelson’s Court, New Westminster, BC V3L 0E7 (the “Mail-in Entry”). Your phone number will only be used to contact you if you are selected as a winner. You must read and accept these Contest rules and comply with the entry requirements of these Contest rules. Entrants will earn one Mail-In Entry per entry form delivered to TransLink.  Mail-In Entries must be postmarked during the Contest Period and received by TransLink by no later than the last day of the Contest Period. Each Mail-In Entry must be mailed in separately. Mail-In Entries will be deemed to be received on the date actually received by TransLink.

    Entries received by any other method than those described above will not be accepted. Entries generated by script, macro, robotic, programming or any other automated means are prohibited and will be disqualified. If it is discovered by TransLink (using any evidence or other information made available to or otherwise discovered by TransLink) that an entrant has attempted to use multiple names, multiple identities, multiple email addresses, and/or any script, macro, robotic, programming or any other automated or other means not in keeping with TransLink’s interpretation of the letter and/or spirit of these Contest Rules to enter or otherwise participate in or to disrupt this Contest, then such entrant may be disqualified from the Contest in the sole and absolute discretion of TransLink.

    Entries must be received by the date and time set out below for each draw to be held. All entries received after the cutoff date and time for a particular draw, regardless of method of submission, will be disqualified from such draw.

    Multiple entrants are not permitted to use the same email address.

    Limit: Maximum of one entry per person during the Contest Period, regardless of the method of entry.

    Entries must not include content that is unlawful, harmful, vulgar, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable as determined by TransLink, in its sole discretion.

    TransLink does not claim ownership of the photographs of Participating Tour Stops that entrants may submit.  However, when entrants submit photographs as part of the Contest entry process, entrants grant to TransLink a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, license to use and reproduce such photographs for the purposes of administering the Contest, without further permission or remuneration.

    Entries, other than photographs of Participating Tour Stops that may be submitted, become the property of TransLink and will not be returned.  By submitting an entry for the Contest, the entrant grants TransLink a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right in perpetuity to use and reproduce the entry in any manner without further permission or remuneration.

    Each submission, including photographs, must be the property of the entrant.  The entrant agrees to indemnify TransLink and its subsidiaries from any and all copyright, trademark or other intellectual property infringement claims, privacy infringement claims, or liability which may arise with regard to the entrant’s submission, including photographs.  Entries must not include content that is unlawful, harmful, vulgar, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable as determined by TransLink, in its sole discretion.

    Entries become the property of TransLink and will not be returned. By submitting an entry for the Contest, the entrant grants TransLink a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right in perpetuity to use and reproduce the entry in any manner without further permission or remuneration.  

    TransLink and its subsidiaries are not responsible or liable for any entrant’s or potential entrant’s inability to access the Contest Site or the entry submission process.  TransLink and its subsidiaries are not responsible for lost, late, damaged, illegible, garbled, stolen, misdirected, misidentified, delayed, or incomplete entries, for any problems or technical or mechanical malfunction of the computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any entry to be received by TransLink on account of a postal strike, or technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by equipment, programming used in this contest, human processing or otherwise, or any combination thereof.

    PRIZES

    There are a total of three (3) prize packages available to be won by qualified Contest entrants:

    One (1) Grand Prize Package

    • One (1) adult fare 3-zone Compass Monthly Pass for twelve (12) months (loaded by TransLink on a monthly basis) starting November 1, 2025, having an approximate retail value of $2448.90; and
    • One (1) $200 gift card to the TransLink Store (https://translinkstore.ca/) (retail value $200)

    One (1) Second Place Prize Package

    • One (1) adult fare 3-zone Compass Monthly Pass for one (1) month starting November 1, 2025, having an approximate retail value of $201.55; and

    • One (1) $100 gift card to the TransLink Store (https://translinkstore.ca/) (retail value $100)

    One (1) Third Place Prize Package

    • One (1) adult fare 3-zone Compass Monthly Pass for one (1) month starting November 1, 2025, having an approximate retail value of $201.55; and
    • One (1) $50 gift card to the TransLink Store (https://translinkstore.ca/) (retail value $50)

    (together, “Prizes”, each a “Prize”)

    PRIZE CONDITIONS
    1. All prizes are non-transferable and non-assignable. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be substituted or redeemed for cash except in the sole discretion of TransLink. Prize winners are not entitled to any monetary difference between actual Prize value and stated approximate Prize value, if any.
    2. Prizes must be claimed by October 31, 2025 unless otherwise specified in the terms and conditions specific to any applicable Prize. Compass Monthly Pass prizes start November 1, 2025.Should a Prize winner be unable to participate on the dates and times designated by TransLink, the Prize will be forfeited and either awarded to an alternate winner or not awarded in TransLink’s sole discretion.
    3. Compass Monthly Pass Prizes are all subject to the Compass Card Terms and Conditions of Use as outlined here: https://www.compasscard.ca/TermsAndConditions and the Transit Tariff as outlined here: https://www.translink.ca/-/media/translink/documents/about-translink/governance-and-board/bylaws/unofficial-consolidated-tariff-bylaw.pdf. Travel on the West Coast Express is not included with any Compass Card Prizes. Compass Card Prizes will automatically be loaded with value by TransLink. The Grand Prize Compass Card will consist of a Compass Card loaded with an adult fare 3-zone Monthly Pass loaded automatically by TransLink on a monthly basis for twelve (12) months starting from November 1, 2025.
    4. Winners are solely responsible for the reporting and payment of all taxes, if any, that may result from claiming a prize in this Contest.
    5. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, assigned, substituted or redeemed for cash, except at the sole discretion of TransLink. Any unused, unclaimed or declined portion of any Prize will be forfeited, have no cash value and TransLink shall have no obligation to provide either an alternative or value-in-kind. TransLink reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a Prize (or any portion thereof) cannot be awarded for any reason.
    6. Gift card prizes will be delivered to winners electronically to the email address provided upon entry.If the winner is a Compass card holder, the Compass Monthly Pass prize will also be delivered electronically to the email address provided upon entry.If the winner is not a Compass card holder, the winner must arrange for pick up of the Compass Monthly Pass prize in person,Prizes will not be shipped to the winner by TransLink except in the sole discretion of TransLink.If prizes cannot be delivered by email, winners must arrange for pick-up or shipping at their own cost and risk.
    7. Shipped Prizes will not be insured.TransLink and its representatives will not assume any liability for lost, damaged or misdirected Prizes. 

    SELECTION OF WINNING ENTRIES AND WINNER NOTIFICATION

    One (1) winner of the Grand Prize, one (1) winner of the Second Place Prize, and one (1) winner of the Third Place Prize will be selected as follows:

    On or about October 3, 2025 in Burnaby, British Columbia, one (1) entrant will be selected by a random draw from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period as the Grand Prize winner; one (1) entrant will then be selected by a second random draft from all remaining eligible entries received during the Contest Period as the Second Place Prize winner; and one (1) entrant will then be selected by a third random draw from all remaining eligible entries received during the Contest Period as the Third Place Prize winner.

    The odds of being selected as a potential winner are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received by TransLink during the Contest Period.

    EACH SELECTED ENTRANT WILL BE NOTIFIED BY E-MAIL AND/OR PHONE BY TRANSLINK’S AGENCY, PATIO SOCIAL INC., OR BY A REPRESENTATIVE OF TRANSLINK THE DAY OF THE DRAW AT OR AROUND 5:00 P.M. AND MUST RESPOND WITHIN FIVE (5) BUSINESS DAYS OF NOTIFICATION. Upon notification, the selected entrant must respond by telephone or e-mail (as specified in the notification) to the contact number or e-mail address provided within five (5) business days. If the selected entrant does not respond accordingly, they will be disqualified and will not receive a Prize.  If the selected entrant who did not respond had been selected as the Grand Prize winner or the Second Prize winner, the selected Second Prize winner and/or selected Third Prize winner, as applicable, will be moved up one place accordingly, and another entrant may be selected from eligible entries for the Third Prize draw in TransLink’s sole discretion until such time as an entrant satisfies the terms set out in these Contest rules. TransLink is not responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of a selected entrant to receive notification or for TransLink to receive a selected entrant’s response.

    If, as a result of an error relating to the entry process, drawing or any other aspect of the Contest, there are more selected entrants than contemplated in these Contest rules, there will be a random draw amongst all eligible Prize claimants after the end of the Contest Period to award the correct number of Prizes.

    To be declared a winner, the selected entrant must, in addition to satisfying any other conditions of these Contest rules:

    (a)         First correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question which will be included in the Prize Winner Agreement, defined below;

     

    (b)         Sign and return an agreement (the “Prize Winner Agreement”), in a form acceptable to TransLink in its sole discretion, confirming compliance with these Contest rules and acceptance of the applicable Prize as offered and releasing and indemnifying and holding harmless TransLink, its subsidiaries, and each of their respective employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents, sponsors (including Prize sponsors), administrators, licensees and representatives for any loss, harm, damages, cost or expense arising out of, or in any way connected to, directly or indirectly, the selected entrant’s participation in the Contest, any breach of these Contest rules, participation in any Contest-related activity, any breach of the Prize Winner Agreement, and the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the applicable Prize or any component thereof, including without limitation, costs, injuries, losses related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light, or from any and all claims of third parties arising therefrom, to the extent permitted by law, and assuming liability for injuries caused or claimed by participating in the Contest or by the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of, or failure to receive the Prize or any component of the Prize; and

    (c)          Consent to their name, image (including without limitation any image or photograph of the potential winner together with the Prize), likeness, voice, biography, city/town of residence and comments, in whole or in part, modified or altered, either by themselves or in conjunction with other information, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, for promotional, advertising and publicity purposes and in connection with the Contest and the promotion and exploitation thereof. Such consent will be included in the Prize Winner Agreement. 

    If the selected entrant fails to meet these conditions within 7 days of acknowledging his/her receipt of the notification of eligibility for a Prize, the Prize will be forfeited and another entrant may be selected from eligible entries for the applicable Prize draw in TransLink’s sole discretion until such time as an entrant satisfies the terms set out in these Contest rules.  Failure to comply with any other terms or conditions of these Contest rules may, at the sole discretion of TransLink, result in the winner’s disqualification and the forfeiture of their interest in the applicable Prize(s).

    TransLink or TransLink’s representative will contact the Prize winners to coordinate the provision of the Prizes within three (3) days once such winners have been successfully contacted and notified of their Prize and fulfilled the requirements set out in these Contest rules.  If Prize winners are responsible for picking up their Prize, they must do so by the deadline and at the location specified by TransLink or TransLink’s representative.  Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the Prize.

    GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

    The Contest will be run in accordance with these Contest rules.  Entrants must comply with these Contest rules, and will be deemed to have received and understood these Contest rules by submitting an entry. 

    The odds of winning a prize draw are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

    TransLink will not, under any circumstances, be responsible for, or liable to any entrant or any other person for:

    • any erroneous lost, damaged, late, incomplete, misdirected, deleted, defective, or altered Contest entries, regardless of the cause, including, but not limited to, postal strike or failure of the Contest Site; 
    • any failure for any reason whatsoever of the selected entrant to receive a prize notification;
    • any changes in email addresses or phone numbers after Contest entries are submitted;
    • any computer, online, telephone, or technical malfunctions or errors that may occur, regardless of the cause; and
    • any inability to conduct the Contest as planned for any reason, including reasons beyond the control of TransLink.

    The decision of TransLink is final on all matters of fact, interpretation, eligibility, procedure and fulfillment in all matters related to this Contest and without appeal.

    TransLink reserves the right to require proof of age, address and jurisdiction of residence prior to awarding any Prize.

    TransLink may, at its sole discretion, alter, amend, suspend, or cancel this Contest or these Contest rules, or amend the draw procedures at any time, subject to applicable law.

    By participating in this Contest, the entrant agrees to release, indemnify and hold harmless TransLink, its subsidiaries, prize suppliers, and each of their directors, officers, employees, contractors and agents from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and action of any kind in connection with this Contest or resulting from the entrant’s acceptance, possession, or use of any Prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, or property damage.

    This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by any social media platforms on which the Contest may have been promoted and/or publicized. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest must be directed to TransLink.

    These are the official Contest rules.  This Contest is subject to the laws of the province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada applicable herein.  If any provisions of these Contest rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, all remaining provisions hereof will remain in full force and effect.

    In the event of a dispute concerning the identity of an entrant, the entrant will be the registered account holder of the email address associated with the disputed entry, but only if that person meets all other eligibility criteria. 

    PRIVACY

    The personal information requested in the Contest entry form, including the photo of your Contest Passport, is collected by TransLink for the management of its marketing, communications, and promotions programs, including administration of the Contest.
