VANCOUVER, BC – TransLink is boosting transit service and adjusting some bus routes to help customers get to and from the Honda Celebration of Light fireworks nights in downtown Vancouver.

The following changes to bus service will be in effect on July 19, 23, and 26:

  • Special pre-event shuttles will run from Burrard Station to the intersection of Denman Street and West Georgia Street from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Special post-event shuttles will run from the intersection of Bidwell Street and West Georgia Street.
    • Customers will be dropped off at the intersection of Burrard Street and West Georgia Street (near Burrard Station), and then Waterfront Station.
  • Special post-event shuttles to West and North Vancouver will run from the intersection of West Georgia Street and Denman Street.
  • Due to street closures, routes 5, 6 (5 p.m. to midnight), and 23 (8 a.m. to midnight) will be rerouted.

SkyTrain will operate every two to three minutes before and after fireworks each night.

  • To ensure customer safety, access to the entrances at Burrard, Granville, and Waterfront stations will be modified due to potential crowding.
  • Bikes will not be permitted on SkyTrain after 10:30 p.m. until crowds have cleared.

SeaBus sailings every 15 minutes will be extended from 9 p.m. until the last sailing from Waterfront Station at 1:22 a.m. on July 23 and from 9:30 p.m. on July 19 and 26.

  • On July 19 and 26, there will be sailings every 10 minutes from 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

West Coast Express will operate a special train on July 26.

  • One train will leave Mission City Station at 7 p.m. and arrive at Waterfront Station at 8:15 p.m.
  • The return train will begin boarding at Waterfront Station at 11 p.m. and leave at midnight.

Due to large crowds during event nights, customers should plan for additional travel time on all modes of transit. Extra Transit Police, Transit Security, and SkyTrain Attendants will be at stations to assist and direct customers.
