SkyTrain Fleet Expansion

New Mark V SkyTrain

TransLink is adding 47 new trains to our fleet, thanks to funding approved for the 10-Year Vision for Metro Vancouver transportation. Our new Mark V-model trains are longer than current trains with five interconnected cars and room for 25 per cent more customers. These trains allow us to expand SkyTrain service to new parts of the region, through the Province-built Broadway Subway and Surrey Langley SkyTrain extensions.

Mark V trains are now in service on Expo Line and will expand service to Millennium Line in future. Trains will continue to be delivered, tested, and added to our fleet one by one until the entire order is ready to serve Metro Vancouver in 2029.

We’ll continue to field test new trains intermittently throughout the week during non-peak times.

Please stay back and do not board test trains which are marked with signs and barriers in doorways.
