What is the Trip Diary Survey?

This study is conducted every five years. The goal is to understand travel habits — where people go and how they get there — whether it is walking, cycling, driving, carpooling, taking transit, or a combination.

Who can participate?

We have asked IPSOS, a leading market research company, to enlist selected households to take part in a study.

From now through December, IPSOS will contact households at random and invite them to participate in the survey. If your household is selected, we encourage you to take part. You’ll be representing your community and making a difference!

How will the information be used?

The information will help us make more informed decisions to help manage congestion and get more people to where they want to go.

Your information will be collected only to administer the survey and represent the travel patterns in your community and the region. All personal information will be handled in strict accordance with British Columbia’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

I’ve been selected! How do I get started?

  1. Go to https://ipsosdiary.ca/survey
  2. Enter your household PIN and password that you received in the invitation
  3. Complete the survey to receive a gift card and a chance to win amazing prizes!
