Transit Service Changes

TransLink introduces bus service changes every January, April, June, and September to ensure service is provided where it’s needed most based on seasonal patterns and recent trends. Throughout the year, we monitor ridership levels, customer feedback, and travel patterns across the region to help keep service reliable and focused where it can benefit customers most.

    Coquitlam Central Station – Bus Routing Changes

    Starting Monday, Nov. 9, 2026, we’re making adjustments to routes 151, 152, and 153 in the westbound direction near Coquitlam Central Station, following recent improvements made to an existing access ramp. The changes include a new bus-only lane and a signalized intersection that allows buses to turn left onto southbound Mariner Way.

    151 Burquitlam Station/Coquitlam Central Station

    Effective Monday, Nov. 9, 2026.

    Currently, route 151 trips to Burquitlam Station depart Coquitlam Central Station and travel south on Lougheed Highway, turn right on Dewdney Trunk Road, and turn left on Norman Avenue to head towards Burquitlam Station. With the changes, these trips will leave Coquitlam Central Station, pass the Park and Ride, and use the access ramp to turn south onto Mariner Way. Buses will then turn southeast onto Dewdney Trunk Road and west onto Norman Avenue before continuing towards Burquitlam Station.

    As a result, these trips will no longer serve stop #53036 at Dewdney Trunk Road and Lougheed Highway. Customers can instead use stop #53359 at Ranch Park Way and Norman Avenue, which is about 350 metres away.

    152 Lougheed Station/Coquitlam Central Station

    Currently, route 152 trips to Lougheed Station depart Coquitlam Central Station and travel south on Lougheed Highway, turn right on Dewdney Trunk Road, and turn left on Mariner Way to head towards Lougheed Station. With the changes, these trips will leave Coquitlam Central Station, pass the Park and Ride, and use the access ramp to turn south onto Mariner Way before continuing to Lougheed Station.

    As a result, these trips will no longer serve stops #53036 (Dewdney Trunk Road at Lougheed Highway) and #53037 (Dewdney Trunk Road at Norman Avenue). Customers can instead use stop #53038 at Mariner Way and Dewdney Trunk Road, which is about 500 metres from stop #53036 and 300 metres from stop #53037.

    153 Braid Station/Coquitlam Central Station

    Currently, route 153 trips to Braid Station depart Coquitlam Central Station and travel south on Lougheed Highway, turn right on Dewdney Trunk Road, and turn left on Mariner Way to head towards Braid Station. With the changes, these trips will leave Coquitlam Central Station, pass the Park and Ride, and use the access ramp to turn south onto Mariner Way before continuing to Braid Station.

    As a result, these trips will no longer serve stops #53036 (Dewdney Trunk Road at Lougheed Highway) and #53037 (Dewdney Trunk Road at Norman Avenue). Customers can instead use stop #53038 at Mariner Way and Dewdney Trunk Road, which is about 500 metres from stop #53036 and 300 metres from stop #53037.

    Holiday Service

    Remembrance Day: Wednesday, Nov. 11

    • Bus, SkyTrain, and SeaBus services will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule.

    • West Coast Express will not operate.

    • The TransLink Customer Service Centre, Access Transit Customer Care Office and Lost Property Office will be closed.

    Travellers using BC Ferries are encouraged to view their holiday schedules as additional sailings may be added for the long weekend.

    Travellers requiring BC Transit connections on the south coast should also review the BC Transit holiday service schedules for the long weekend.

    SkyTrain, SeaBus and buses will all observe a moment of silence at 11:00 a.m. on Nov. 11, with trains stopping in or just outside of a station at that time.

    In honour of Remembrance Day, on Wednesday, Nov. 11, transit will be free for veterans, members of the Armed Forces, police and fire departments, Coast Guard, BC Ambulance Paramedics, and Department of Fisheries and Oceans across all modes, including HandyDART and Canada Line-YVR AddFare.

    • Veterans and other eligible customers can ride buses for free all day without tapping their Compass Cards.

    • SkyTrain and SeaBus service will be free for veterans and eligible customers from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and one accessible fare gate will be left open at all stations during these times to accommodate.

    • Veterans and eligible customers should present their military ID, Veteran’s Service Card, or appear in uniform to receive free transit.

    For non-veterans, you only need a 1-Zone fare to travel across all zones.

    Service returns to regular weekday schedules for all modes on Thursday, Nov. 12. Regular fares will be in effect.
