Starting September 4, 2023, TransLink is adjusting bus service levels around the region to respond to changing customer demand.
-
Service is being increased on 18 routes across the region to reduce overcrowding and to better serve our customers.
-
Service adjustments are being made on nine routes to provide more service during periods of high demand and to reduce overcrowding.
TransLink is increasing service on routes serving post-secondary institutions and rolling back seasonal service to popular summer destinations.
-
With the return of school, service is being increased on four routes serving UBC, SFU, and Capilano University.
-
Service is being seasonally adjusted on 15 routes and four summer-only routes are being discontinued for the season.
TransLink is improving service for customers travelling between West Vancouver and UBC by extending some weekday trips on the 44.
-
Customers travelling between West Vancouver and UBC will once again have a one-seat ride, offering a direct alternative for customers transferring between the 250 and 44 in Downtown Vancouver.
-
On weekdays, there will be three morning trips leaving Dundarave hourly, starting at 6:58 a.m., and three afternoon trips leaving UBC Exchange hourly, starting at 3:05 pm.
-
The 44 will serve local stops in both directions in West Vancouver between Dundarave and Park Royal, then in Vancouver at Georgia St and Denman St in both directions, in addition to the regular 44 stops between Burrard Station and UBC.
-
Trips on the 44 that extend to Dundarave will connect to Burrard Station, bypassing Waterfront Station, before heading to West Vancouver.
TransLink is rerouting the 531 to improve access for residents and businesses in the Campbell Heights neighbourhood.
-
Route 531 will provide a new service along 36 Ave and 192 St.
-
TransLink undertook consultation in October 2022, which determined that the new routing would improve connectivity and shorten walking distances to Campbell Heights businesses.
-
Route 563 will continue to serve local stops on 200 St between 32 Ave and 36 Ave.
TransLink is splitting the 103 into two routes – the 102 and the 103 – at New Westminster Station.
-
We’re changing the network design of the 103 to better reflect how the service is operated and used by our customers.
-
The segment of the route east of New Westminster Station will now be numbered the 102. The segment of the route west of New Westminster Station will remain the 103. There will be no change in service levels.
With the completion of construction at the UBC trolley bus loop, the 4 and 14 will return to their regular routing to UBC via University Boulevard.
-
The 99 will no longer serve local stops along University Boulevard.
-
The 4 will return to Bay 11, the 14 will return to Bay 10, the 9 will return to Bay 9, and HandyDART services will return to Bay 12.
-
In response to feedback, the N17 will not be moving back to the trolley loop and will remain at Bay 3 in the diesel loop.
We will continue monitoring ridership levels across the region to ensure service is provided where it is needed most as more and more people choose transit.
