    We implement service changes every January, April, June, and September to ensure service is provided where it’s needed most based on seasonal patterns and recent trends.

    Starting Jan. 5, 2026, TransLink is increasing service on 37 routes across the region to address overcrowding, improve convenience for customers, and extend the hours of service on some routes.

    • Route 609 will see more trips throughout the day, improving access to and from Tsawwassen First Nation.

    • Route 80 will introduce midday trips on weekdays – previously a peak-only route – enhancing connections between the River District and the Canada Line.

    We’re adjusting the schedules for the last SeaBus trips on Sunday nights by two to six minutes to ensure vessels have enough time to safely dock, unload, and depart for their final trips.

    These improvements are made possible through the 2025 Investment Plan, which delivers the largest bus service expansion since 2018.

    • By January, TransLink will have implemented around one-third of the new bus service funded through the plan since the improvements began rolling out in September 2025.

    We will continue monitoring ridership levels across the region to ensure service is provided where it is needed most as more and more people choose transit.

    49 Metrotown Station / Dunbar Loop / UBC

    We’re adding more weekday service on the 49 to improve reliability and reduce overcrowding on the busiest section of the route between Cambie Street and Metrotown. To do this, we’re adjusting where some trips start and end.

    In the morning (westbound), one extra trip per hour between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. will run from Metrotown Station to Cambie Street, ending there instead of continuing to UBC. These trips will display “49 LANGARA-49TH STN” on the bus destination sign.

    In the afternoon (eastbound), one extra trip per hour between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. will start at Cambie Street – instead of at UBC – and continue to Metrotown Station.

    • Every 5 to 6 minutes towards UBC between Metrotown and Langara-49th Avenue Station from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. (from 6 minutes)

    335 Newton / Surrey Central Station

    We’re adding more weekday service on the 335 to improve reliability and reduce overcrowding on the busiest section of the route between Surrey Central Station and Guildford. To do this, we’re introducing an alternate service pattern, with some trips starting or ending at Guildford. This will increase service during weekday peak periods from seven to nine trips per hour.

    In the morning (westbound), each hour there will be six full-length trips from Newton Exchange to Surrey Central Station and three shorter trips starting at Guildford.

    In the afternoon (eastbound), each hour there will be six full-length trips from Surrey Central Station to Newton Exchange and three shorter trips ending at Guildford. These shorter trips will display “335 GUILDFORD” on the bus destination sign.

    407 Gilbert / Bridgeport

    We’re adjusting the routing of some trips on the 407 to provide transit service to the new Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC) maintenance facility on Knox Way in Richmond. Some weekday trips will follow an alternate service pattern that will travel east of the Knight Street Bridge to Knox Way. This will add approximately six minutes of travel time on these trips.

    For these trips, the bus destination signs on northbound buses will display “407 BRIDGEPORT VIA VULCAN & KNOX WAY” and on southbound buses “407 GILBERT VIA VULCAN & KNOX WAY”. Northbound trips will continue to end at Marine Drive and Knight Street, and southbound trips will continue to end in Steveston.

    We’re also adding two new northbound trips – via Knox Way – on weekday mornings, at 4:25 a.m. and 4:48 a.m.

    Monday to Friday

    • Trips towards Marine and Knight at 4:25 a.m., 4:48 a.m., 5:29 a.m., 5:46 a.m., 6:29 a.m., 6:44 a.m., and 1:58 p.m. will operate via Knox Way.

    We’re adding service on the N10 NightBus, with more trips travelling all the way to Vancouver International Airport.

    Saturday

    • All trips will now serve YVR.

    • Every 30 to 32 minutes towards Downtown from 2:20 a.m. to 3:22 a.m. (from 60 to 62 minutes)

    • Last trip towards Downtown at 3:56 a.m. (from 5:10 a.m.)

    Sunday

    • All trips will now serve YVR except for the 4:57 a.m. trip from Bridgeport Station.

    173 Coquitlam Central Station / Cedar

    We’re adjusting service on the 173 by discontinuing two weekday afternoon trips from Terry Fox Secondary School towards Cedar.

    Monday to Friday

    • School days-only trips towards Cedar at 2:19 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. will no longer run.

    • As part of these changes, bus stop #53784 (eastbound Riverwood Gate at Amazon Street) will be removed.

    This change is being made to improve efficiency and ensure students in Coquitlam have a reliable trip home after school. The two discontinued trips on the 173 see very low ridership during the school year. Meanwhile, route 172, which serves the same area as the 173, experiences severe overcrowding and pass-ups on school day afternoons.

    As alternatives to the discontinued trips on the 173 at bus stop #53784, students and customers travelling to Coquitlam Central Station can use:

    • Route 172 from bus stop #58763, a five-minute walk from the discontinued stop (accessible via school grounds).

    • Route 188 from bus stop #58673, a six-minute walk along Riverwood Gate from the discontinued stop.

    This change is being made to improve efficiency and ensure students in Coquitlam have a reliable trip home after school. The two discontinued trips on the 174 see very low ridership during the school year. Meanwhile, route 172, which serves the same area as the 174, experiences severe overcrowding and pass-ups on school day afternoons.

    SeaBus Service Changes

    We’re adjusting service on the SeaBus on Sunday and holiday evenings to improve reliability and on-time performance. These changes will help ensure SeaBus vessels have enough time to safely dock, unload, and depart for their final trips.

    Sunday/Holiday

    • Last trip towards Waterfront Station at 11 p.m. (from 11:02 p.m.)

    • Last trip towards Lonsdale Quay at 11:22 p.m. (from 11:16 p.m.)

    • SkyTrain (Expo, Millennium, and Canada Lines) services will operate on a Saturday schedule on Dec. 27, a Sunday/holiday schedule on Dec. 28, and a regular weekday schedule on Dec. 29 and Dec. 30.

    • SeaBus services will operate on a Saturday schedule on Dec. 27, a Sunday/holiday schedule on Dec. 28, and a regular weekday schedule on Dec. 29 and Dec. 30.

    • West Coast Express services will not operate on Dec. 27 or Dec. 28, and will operate on a regular weekday schedule on Dec. 29 and Dec. 30.

    • The TransLink Customer Service Centre and Access Transit Customer Care Office will be closed between Dec. 27 and Dec. 28, and will be open on Dec. 29 and Dec. 30. The Lost Property Office will be open.

    From 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, until 5 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, customers can ride transit without tapping their Compass Card or any other payment method.

    During these hours, faregates at SkyTrain stations and SeaBus terminals will remain open for easy customer access.

    • Bus services will operate on an extended weekday schedule with 52 additional buses throughout the system and extra service on select routes.

    • SkyTrain (Expo, Millennium, and Canada Lines) services will operate on an extended weekday schedule with last trains running one hour later than regularly scheduled:

      • Last train from Waterfront to King George at 2:16 a.m.

      • Last train from Waterfront to Lougheed at 2:11 a.m.

      • Last train from Waterfront to Production Way-University at 1:40 a.m.

      • Last train from Waterfront to YVR-Airport Station at 2:08 a.m.

      • Last train from Waterfront to Richmond-Brighouse at 2:15 a.m.

      • Last train from VCC-Clark to Lafarge Lake-Douglas at 2:22 a.m. (until 2:30 a.m. as far as Lougheed Town Centre only)

      • Last train from Lafarge Lake-Douglas to VCC-Clark at 1:58 a.m.

    • SeaBus will be running on a weekday schedule with extended service every 15 minutes until 1:22 a.m. and every 30 minutes until last sailing from Waterfront at 2:22 a.m.

    • NightBus will continue operating after SkyTrain and SeaBus service ends.

      • NightBus runs throughout the night on key routes in Vancouver, Richmond, North Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Moody, New Westminster, and Surrey.

    • West Coast Express will be operating on a weekday schedule and the 5:30 p.m. and 6:20 p.m. trains leaving Waterfront Station will be free to customers.
