VANCOUVER, BC – The Canada Line’s Oakridge–41st Avenue Station will be closing early at 11 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday nights for about two months, during the next phase of ongoing station upgrades. This work will also require the station’s elevator to be closed for three months.

  • Ongoing early closures at 11 p.m. until January 15 (previously announced).
  • Next phase of early closures at 11 p.m. from January 26 to late March.
    • Sunday to Thursday nights only.
    • No early closures on Fridays, Saturdays, and February 16 (Family Day).
    • Completion date is subject to weather conditions.

In addition to these early closures, the elevator at Oakridge–41st Avenue Station will be temporarily closed from January 26 to April 30.

This upcoming phase of work is necessary to ensure customer safety. Crews will continue demolishing the current station entrance structure and installing large glass roof panels. Partial demolition of the elevator shaft is required to build weather protection for customers using the elevator once the project is complete.

The #15 Cambie/Olympic Village Station bus at Oakridge–41st Avenue Station can be used for alternative travel between King Edward and Langara–49th Avenue stations.

Customers relying on bus service, or walking between stations, should allow for up to 20 minutes of additional travel time. Extra Canada Line staff and signage will be present at the station to assist and inform customers.

This project will make the station more accessible and better equipped to serve the growing neighbourhood. The full station upgrades are expected to be complete in summer 2026 and will include:

  • Two new escalators to improve accessibility at the station.
  • A renovated station entrance with new roof offering better weather protection.
  • Direct underground access to the new Oakridge Park mall.
  • An updated R4 RapidBus stop on 41st Avenue with new information display, benches, and shelter.
  • New public art at the station.
