Next phase of night construction necessary for roof work and station entrance demolition

VANCOUVER, BC – The Canada Line’s Oakridge–41st Avenue Station will be closing early at 11 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday nights for one month, to allow for ongoing upgrade work.
This phase of temporary early closures is necessary to ensure customer safety. Crews will be demolishing the current station entrance structure and installing large glass panels in the roof.
- Early closures will take place at 11 p.m. from December 14 to January 15.
- Early closures on Sunday to Thursday nights only
- Excludes Fridays and Saturdays
- Excludes December 24, 25, 31, and January 1
The #15 Cambie/Olympic Village Station bus at Oakridge–41st Avenue Station can be used for alternative travel between King Edward and Langara–49th Avenue stations. Customers relying on bus service, or walking between stations, should allow for up to 20 minutes of additional travel time. Extra Canada Line staff and signage will be present at the station to assist and inform customers.
This project will make the station more accessible and better equipped to serve the growing neighbourhood. Currently, more than 7,000 people use Oakridge–41st Avenue Station daily and that number is expected to grow with increasing density in the surrounding area.
The full station upgrades are expected to be complete in summer 2026 and will include:
- Two new escalators to improve accessibility at the station.
- A renovated station entrance with new roof offering better weather protection.
- Direct underground access to the renovated Oakridge Park mall.
- An updated R4 RapidBus stop on 41st Avenue with new information display, benches, and shelter.
- New public art inside the station.
