Service impacts on Saturdays and Sundays until June

VANCOUVER, BC – Starting Sunday, March 22, Expo Line service will be temporarily reduced on weekends in downtown Vancouver until early June. Service will be affected during early mornings on Saturdays and Sundays, and late nights on Sundays. This essential maintenance work is for necessary upgrades to the linear induction motor (LIM) rail to ensure the continued safety and reliability of SkyTrain.

During this work, Expo Line customers travelling through or using downtown Vancouver stations should expect some delays and build in 20 minutes of extra travel time.

Expo Line weekend maintenance in downtown Vancouver begins Sunday, March 22. Service adjustments will occur at the following times:

  • Saturdays from start of service to 10 a.m.
  • Sundays from start of service to 10 a.m.
  • Sundays from 9:30 p.m. until end of service.

Digital screens at station entrances will inform customers of any platform changes. Canada Line and Millennium Line service will not be affected.

The LIM Rail Replacement Program, designed to replace the original Expo Line LIM rail with an upgraded assembly to match the Millennium Line and provide consistency across the system, will begin with the track section between Waterfront and Stadium-Chinatown stations.

Customers can check Transit Alerts for details on which Expo Line stations are impacted, plan their journey ahead of time, and follow TransLink on X @TransLink for the latest updates.
