Pattullo Bridge closed northbound for one night
Closure necessary for repaving near bridge in New Westminster

NEW WESTMINSTER, BC – The Pattullo Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic travelling northbound into New Westminster for one night, due to ongoing construction work for the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project. The directional closure will take place overnight on the following date:
- Thursday, October 30 (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.)
Southbound travel into Surrey will not be affected. The bridge will also remain open northbound for pedestrians and cyclists.
This closures is needed to safely conduct repaving work on the Bridge Connector and the Royal Avenue off-ramp in New Westminster. Construction equipment will be positioned near both northbound lanes on the bridge, making the lane closures necessary. During this time, TransLink will also be conducting annual inspections of the bridge, requiring use of the northbound lanes.
Northbound Pattullo Bridge users are encouraged to take the Port Mann or Alex Fraser bridges as alternatives. N19 NightBus trips affected by the directional closure will be rerouted over the Alex Fraser and Queensborough bridges between New Westminster and Scott Road stations.
There will be signage to indicate all traffic pattern changes and traffic control personnel will be on-site. Rerouted drivers and transit users should plan for up to 30 minutes of additional travel time. Customers are encouraged to check Transit Alerts and use Trip Planner for more information.
