Pattullo Bridge closed southbound for three nights
Closures needed for sign installation work on King George Boulevard

NEW WESTMINSTER, BC – The Pattullo Bridge will be closed southbound into Surrey for three nights, because of ongoing construction work for the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project. The directional closures will take place overnight on the following dates:
- Thursday, November 27 (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.)
- Friday, November 28 (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.)
- Sunday, November 30 (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.)
The bridge will also remain closed southbound for pedestrians and cyclists. Northbound travel into New Westminster will not be affected.
These closures are needed to secure a new overhead directional traffic sign along King George Boulevard. The large sign will be installed over the right lane of the replacement bridge, before the Scott Road exit ramp. Heavy equipment, including a drill rig, will be blocking traffic lanes near the south side of the existing bridge. To ensure public safety, both southbound bridge lanes will need to be closed.
Those who need to use the bridge southbound are encouraged to take the Port Mann or Alex Fraser bridges as alternatives. N19 NightBus trips affected by the directional closure will be rerouted over the Alex Fraser and Queensborough bridges between New Westminster and Scott Road stations.
There will be signage to indicate all traffic pattern changes and traffic control personnel will be on-site. Rerouted drivers and transit users should plan for up to 30 minutes of additional travel time. Customers are encouraged to check Transit Alerts and use Trip Planner for more information.
