Take transit to the 2025 BMO Vancouver Marathon
Service changes in effect this weekend
VANCOUVER, BC – TransLink is providing extra service to help participants get to and from the BMO Vancouver Marathon on Sunday, May 4.
The annual event is one of Canada's premier races and draws runners from around the world. It features a full marathon, half marathon, 8 km race, and kids run.
The starting point is at Queen Elizabeth Park and the full 42.2-kilometre route will take runners through some of Vancouver’s most iconic neighbourhoods. This includes parts of South Vancouver, Dunbar, UBC, Kitsilano, English Bay, and finally Stanley Park.
Service changes for the 2025 BMO Vancouver Marathon:
- Bus detours will be in effect on Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4, due to road closures on the following routes: 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 19, 22, 23, 25, 33, 41, 42, 49, 50, 68, 84, 99, 209, 210, 211, 240, 246, 257, N9, and R4.
- SeaBus will start two hours earlier than usual at 6:02 a.m. with sailings every 30 minutes from Lonsdale Quay, until regular service resumes at 8:02 a.m. with sailings every 15 minutes until the evening.
- SkyTrain will begin service on the Expo Line at 7:06 a.m., and the Millennium Line at 6:56 a.m., while the Canada Line will run extra trains from 5:15 to 8:15 a.m. to accommodate runners heading to the starting line.
