NEW WESTMINSTER, BC – TransLink today launched its first-ever official podcast covering popular transit and transportation topics in the Metro Vancouver region.

The podcast, called What’s the T?,  features host Jawn Jang, a former local radio personality, as he brings listeners behind the scenes to uncover the voices and stories of Metro Vancouver’s transit system.

The podcast will be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and across major podcast platforms with the first three episodes of the first season available immediately.

Jang will cover topics such as why the SkyTrain doesn’t run 24 hours and what it’s like to operate a bus from the perspective of a bus operator.

“What’s the T? is a new way for us to reach our customers and talk about what it takes to operate one of Canada’s largest transit systems,” said Steve Vanagas, TransLink’s Vice-President of Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs.  “We are especially excited about the potential to reach our customers with interesting TransLink-related topics while they travel on our system.”

Podcast host Jawn Jang is a veteran of local Vancouver radio with a decade of experience including stops at 980 CKNW, Rogers Sportsnet, The PEAK, and JR Country.

“I'm so excited to share the amazing stories that we have at TransLink, stories that you help us write every single day,” says Jang, who recently joined TransLink. “So, I promise you three things that we'll do with this podcast: answer, explore and discuss.

“We'll answer the questions you have about the work that we do. We'll explore the many different projects designed to improve your way of life, and we'll discuss the why and how any of this matters to you.”

What’s the T? is recorded and produced in-house at TransLink. Subscribe and listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music, Stitcher and RadioPublic.
