TransLink seeks community feedback for Burrard Peninsula Area Transport Plan
Residents to help shape the future of regional transportation
NEW WESTMINSTER, BC – TransLink is inviting the public to help develop the Burrard Peninsula Area Transport Plan, with the goal of shaping the future of public transportation in the region.
The community engagement survey encourages those who live, work, or travel through Burnaby, New Westminster, Vancouver, UBC and the University Endowment Lands to provide feedback on future transportation development.
The survey is available in English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, as well as Punjabi. Customers can participate from Tuesday, October 10 to Friday, October 27 at translink.ca/bpatp.
The Burrard Peninsula Area Transport Plan (BP ATP) will identify and prioritize recommended actions related to transit, cycling, walking, driving, and goods movement for the transportation network within the Burrard Peninsula.
The study area also involves the traditional and unceded territories of several Indigenous Nations including Musqueam, Squamish Nation, Tsleil-Waututh Nation, Kwikwetlem First Nation, Kwantlen First Nation, and Qayqayt First Nation.
Area Transport Plans are an opportunity for TransLink to work more closely with local governments, Indigenous Nations, stakeholders, and the public to identify key transportation priorities relating to the local transportation network for the next 15 years.
This is the first of two phases of public engagement for the Burrard Peninsula Area Transport Plan. A second phase asking for feedback on recommended actions and how best to prioritize them will launch in the second half of 2024.
