Buskers are back at transit stations
Musicians and artists to appear on transit throughout summer
NEW WESTMINSTER, BC —TransLink’s Busker Program is back after being suspended for the last two years due to COVID-19. The program has been providing transit riders with music and entertainment since Expo '86.
In addition to the return of buskers on the transit system, TransLink also today launched a new program featuring 26 local musicians and artists performing at five different transit hubs across the region throughout the summer.
“This is all part of our commitment to continually improving the customer experience. In addition to getting you to your destination safely and conveniently, we want to bring some fun to your commute,” says TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn.
Riders are invited to enjoy free performances between May and October at the following transit hubs:
Waterfront SkyTrain Station
Londsdale Quay SeaBus Terminal
Surrey Central SkyTrain Station
Coquitlam Centre SkyTrain Station
Bridgeport Bus Exchange
Customers can find the list of artists and the performance schedule on the Art Moves page on the TransLink website. This program is part of TransLink’s Customer Experience Action Plan which identified creating a safer and more pleasant travelling atmosphere as one of its priorities.
