Hastings Street Bus Priority

Hastings Street is one of the region’s busiest east-west corridors, moving thousands of transit riders every day.
At busy times, traffic, signals, turning vehicles, and curb activity can slow buses and make travel times vary. To make trips faster and more predictable, the City of Vancouver and TransLink are planning bus priority measures along the Hastings corridor between downtown and Boundary Road.
Bus lanes
In Spring 2026, as part of the first phase of this project, the City of Vancouver plans to extend bus lane hours on East Hastings Street, between Kaslo Street and Boundary Road. Longer bus lane hours will help buses get through traffic smoothly and stay on schedule.

Bus stop locations
Adjusting bus stop locations can reduce bus bunching and time lost at closely spaced stops, while maintaining access to signalized crossings and key destinations.
In spring 2026, TransLink will seek feedback on proposed bus stop changes along Hastings Street between Downtown and Boundary Road. Check back here to review the changes and share your input.
