    Service Change Highlights

FIFA World Cup 2026™ Vancouver Service Change Highlights

TransLink is increasing transit service during FIFA World Cup 2026™ Vancouver.

The additional service will be key in helping move large event crowds, while also maintaining reliable service for customers who use our system every day across Metro Vancouver.

    • Service improvements during the tournament include:

      • More bus service throughout the downtown core, plus dedicated service for FIFA Fan Festival™ Vancouver.

      • More frequent SkyTrain service before and after matches at BC Place Vancouver, and later service on nights with late kickoffs.

      • Extra SeaBus sailings with increased frequencies on match days.

      • More West Coast Express service, including two extra weekend trips to support travel to and from Saturday and Sunday matches.

    • Transit is the best way to get there.

      • Transit is the fastest, easiest way to reach BC Place Vancouver and the FIFA Fan Festival™ Vancouver. We’re adding staff, service, and security to help ensure everything runs smoothly and reliably. We’ll manage large crowds and capacity while keeping regular customers moving across the region.

      • TransLink is not increasing transit fares for FIFA World Cup 2026™ Vancouver.

    • Plan ahead to avoid delays.

    Summer Service Change Highlights

TransLink implements service changes every January, April, June, and September to ensure service is provided where it’s needed most based on seasonal patterns and recent trends.

    • Starting on June 8, 2026, TransLink is increasing service on 17 routes across the region to enhance convenience for customers and improve connections to popular outdoor destinations this summer.

      • This includes more seasonal service on 16 routes in Metro Vancouver, highlighted by two new seasonal bus routes serving Campbell Valley and Golden Ears Provincial Park, and a new seasonal extension of route 181 to Belcarra.

      • The 900 Bike Bus is back for summer 2026, providing convenient, seamless connections for cyclists between Bridgeport Station and Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal on Fridays, weekends, and holidays.

      • The summer schedule on the SeaBus is back until late September, with more sailings on Fridays and Saturdays to extend 15-minute service until 11 p.m.

    • TransLink is also increasing service on two routes serving the North Shore, improving transit access for both West Vancouver and Lions Bay.

    • These improvements are made possible through the 2025 Investment Plan, which delivers the largest bus service expansion since 2018.

      • TransLink has implemented over 40 per cent of the new bus service funded through the plan since September 2025, with more on the way later this year.

We will continue monitoring ridership levels across the region to ensure service is provided where it is needed most as more people choose transit.

The service change information outlined on this page has also been translated to Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, which can be found in this PDF document.
