  • SkyTrain: The Expo and Millennium SkyTrain Lines connect downtown Vancouver with the cities of Burnaby, New Westminster, Surrey, Port Moody, and Coquitlam. The Canada Line connects downtown Vancouver to the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and the city of Richmond.
  • SeaBus: A passenger-only ferry that crosses the Burrard Inlet, connecting downtown Vancouver with the North Shore.
  • West Coast Express: A Monday to Friday commuter rail service operating during peak morning and evening periods between downtown Vancouver and Mission.
  • Accessible Transit Programs: We offer a variety of services to ensure people with disabilities, seniors, and new immigrants are comfortable and confident when using public transit.

Visit our Schedules and Maps section for more information about our services and where/when they run.

Waiting for Buses

For safety reasons, a bus driver's main priority is to keep their eyes on the road, and they don't always have time to look outside of the bus stop area for passengers intending on taking the bus.

To show your intent to board a bus, please ensure that you're standing right at the stop prior to its arrival.

Customers should also be at the stop prior to the arrival of the bus, this increases the chance that a driver will see you.

Fares

Your fare is determined by your mode of travel, time of day, and how many zones you travel in. Buses are a 1-Zone fare, all day, every day, while SkyTrain and SeaBus require a 1-, 2-, or 3-Zone fare, depending on the number of geographical zone boundaries you cross during your trip. Your SkyTrain and SeaBus fare is also determined by the time of day. After 6:30 p.m. on weekdays and all day Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays, travel across the entire Metro Vancouver region only requires a 1-Zone fare.

A single fare is valid for 90 minutes across Metro Vancouver. Visit our Fares section for information on fare prices, tickets and passes, where to buy your fare, how to transfer, and more.
