TransLink invites the public to have its say on proposed transit changes

October 13, 2015

New Westminster, BC – Starting today, the public is invited to have their say on potential transit changes across Metro Vancouver.

There are more than 85 transit changes proposed, which aim to:

  • Deliver on priorities identified in area transit plans and other planning activities
  • Integrate bus service to better connect to the Evergreen Extension
  • Decrease travel time on busy routes
  • Extend service to areas with high commuter demand
  • Take advantage of road and infrastructure changes
  • Make our transit system more efficient

“As we plan for the future, we need to hear from the people who use our transit services,” says Colleen Brennan, TransLink Vice-President of Communications and Customer Experience. “No final decisions have been made and we’re listening to our customers so we can take their concerns and feedback into account.”

Managing TransLink’s integrated transit network means balancing customer demand and access with the resources available. We continue to monitor the needs of the system and shift service to where it is needed most. With no new funding, this is one way that we are able to respond to growing and shifting customer needs across the transit network.

The Transit Network Consultation online survey is available from October 13 until November 6. Details for each of the proposed changes across Metro Vancouver can be found on our website.
