Access Transit Strategy

TransLink developed the Access Transit Strategy to work towards a transit system that is as accessible as possible for everyone.

The strategy started with reviewing the transit system with representative groups, public transit customers and transit employees. The review also considered how other urban regions are making transit more accessible.

You Spoke. We Listened.

The review stage told us that customers want "a seamless and inclusive public transit system that welcomes every member of the region's diverse community with a fully integrated range of bus, rail, SeaBus and custom transit services that is inviting, responsive, safe, comfortable and affordable and that fully meets the needs of all people to access transit vehicles, amenities, information, customer service, training and other programs." A draft strategy was then written with four key goals:

  1. Create an Access Transit Office and Users' Advisory Committee
  2. Provide better customer support
  3. Improve access to a full range of transit services
  4. Increase availability and effectiveness of custom transit

The Access Transit team works with the Users' Advisory Committee to achieve these goals.
