We're pleased to share BC Rapid Transit Company and CUPE 7000 have reached a tentative agreement. The Expo and Millennium Lines are now operating its regular schedules.

R5 Hastings St

The 95 B-Line, which already delivers faster and more reliable service, is being upgraded to a RapidBus in January 2020. Customers along this corridor will catch a blue and green bus called the "R5 Hastings Street."

As part of its upgrade to RapidBus service, customers on this route will benefit from new buses and customer amenities.

The following work will be completed at bus stops listed below:

  • Removing the existing bus stop posts, digging and prepping area to secure new bus stop posts, and pouring concrete and installing new bases.
  • Installation of bus stop with real-time service displays and text-to-speech option.

Construction will start the week of November 11, during daytime hours and take approximately a week to complete.

There will be intermittent daytime works on all bus stops that will last approximately 1-2 weeks per stop. Please check signage on location to see where the bus stop will be temporarily located.

City of Burnaby: Hastings St. at Hythe Ave.

  • The following work will be completed on Hastings St. at Hythe Ave. from Delta Ave. to Springer Ave.
  • Changes to the median, sidewalk, and curbs and gutters, including the removal and pouring of new concrete
  • Lane line marking removal and new line marking installation.

Construction will start the week of October 28 and take approximately five weeks to complete. Work will take place primarily Monday to Saturday between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. There will be moderate traffic impacts that will require lane closures on Hastings street.
