We continue to salt and sand bus loops and SkyTrain stations, but please use caution in these areas and remember to dress warmly in anticipation of potential delays.

Expect extra crowding on some routes To provide improved traction, many articulated buses have been switched with standard, 40 foot buses. This will mean some modified service, with increased crowding and the possibility of passups in some areas.

HandyDART is currently operating regular service.

Network Design Objectives

TransLink manages and invests in the regional transit network with the assumption that public transit offers a wide range of benefits to the people who live in Metro Vancouver. To achieve these benefits, TransLink follows three simple objectives when designing and managing the transit network: maximize ridership, encourage long-term ridership growth and provide access to transit service across the region.

All three objectives are important, but we sometimes have to make tradeoffs among them. Making decisions about these tradeoffs is where we ask for input and guidance from our partners and the public. Use the tabs below to find out more about our network design objectives.
