Southwest Area Transport Plan

The Southwest Area Transport Plan (SWATP) involves a review of the transportation network in Richmond, South Delta, and the Tsawwassen First Nation, as well as important connections to North Delta and other nearby areas. The SWATP will focus on improving transit service and infrastructure, while also addressing aspects of cycling, walking, driving, and goods movement.

We expect the population in Richmond, South Delta, and the Tsawwassen First Nation to continue to increase over the next 10-15 years. Now is the time to plan for the future so that we can meet that growing demand. The feedback we've received throughout the process will help us improve transportation in the Southwest sub-region.

Southwest Area Transport Plan Phase 2 Draft Report

Thank you to everyone who participated in the spring 2017 public engagement. Based on your feedback, we modified all of the proposals for which there was significant to moderate concern expressed. We even found ways to make some of the proposals that received strong support even better.

We sought feedback on the draft report and recommendations from Nov. 20 to Dec. 10, 2017, and are now working to finalize the plan in spring 2018.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to send us their input.
