TransLink COVID-19 Update: Health officials advise of first positive COVID-19 employee cases

April 01, 2020

NEW WESTMINSTER, BC - Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC) has been advised by Public Health officials that two employees have tested positive for COVID-19. The first is an employee working out of the Burnaby Transit Centre. This employee's workspace, which was identified by Public Health officials, has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

The second case is an employee working out of the Port Coquitlam Transit Centre. Public Health officials have not identified the employee involved in this case. However, a Port Coquitlam Bus Operator has disclosed to CMBC that they tested positive for COVID-19. Any relevant buses and workspaces that this operator came into contact with have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

These employees have our full support and we wish them a speedy recovery. British Columbia has very strict privacy laws and whether to disclose any further details on these cases would be a matter for the Provincial Health Officer.
