TransLink springs on more bus service

8,000 annual bus service hours added with spring service changes

NEW WESTMINSTER, BC — Beginning April 22, several routes on TransLink’s bus network will be running earlier, later and more often. Since 2017, a total of 285,000 bus service hours have been added to improve reliability and reduce overcrowding as part of the Mayors’ 10-Year Vision commitments. This spring, 17 routes will benefit from permanent increases and 12 routes will have seasonal changes.

Three routes will see major permanent frequency increases during peak hours and on weekends to reduce wait times, including:

250A Dundarave/Vancouver

Effective Saturday, May 25

We’re increasing service during busy times on weekdays to reduce overcrowding.

  • Monday to Friday
    • Every 7-10 minutes from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
    • Every 6-12 minutes from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

301 Richmond-Brighouse Station/Newton Exchange

We’re doubling service all day Saturdays to cut your wait times in half.

  • Saturdays
    • Every 30 minutes from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

312 Scott Road Station/Scottsdale

We’re doubling service during busy times on Saturdays to cut your wait times in half.

  • Saturdays
    • Every 30 minutes from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
    • Every 30 minutes from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

There will also be permanent improvements to 14 other routes including the 84, 116, 229, 250, 240, 257, 310, 182, 319, 321, 323, 335, 351, and 640 routes.

As seasonal demand for trips to post-secondary institutions decreases and demand for trips to ferry terminals, beaches and other tourist destinations increases, there will be an additional 12 seasonal changes including the 9, 19, 23, 28, 42, 125, 130, 150, 236, 258, 480, and 620 routes.
