CMBC Board of Directors

The Board of Directors provides general oversight to the management of CMBC with respect to strategic planning, annual budgets, performance reporting and the hiring of the President & General Manager. The Board is comprised of three directors appointed by the TransLink Board, and meets on a quarterly basis.

Cathy McLay

Board Chair

Cathy is an award winning executive with extensive experience with reorganizational structures, mergers, acquisitions, change management and divestitures.

While CFO and EVP, Finance and Corporate Services at TransLink, she won the Business in Vancouver 2013 CFO of the Year in the Transformation Agents category. Prior to TransLink, she served as the General Manager for Canadian Forest Products Ltd., as well as the Corporate Controller for Howe Sound Pulp and Paper Limited Partnership. Cathy was also the acting secretary for the Board of Directors and a member of many Executive Steering Committees such as Fiber, Health Safety and Environment and Oracle Financial Project. In addition, she served as the Regional Controller for Canadian Forest Products Ltd. in Prince George and as a Senior Field Accountant for Deloitte & Touche.

An International Certified Business Coach, Cathy is a Certified Management Accountant, and holds a Business Administration diploma in Finance and Accounting.

Previously, Cathy served on the Board of Directors for Vancouver Coastal Health and as Director and President of the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Corporation.

Len Posyniak

Len has over 30 years of strategic human resources experience in both the private and public sectors at the executive level. Most recently, he held the role of the Senior Vice-President, Human Resources and Corporate Services with Catalyst Paper Corporation. In addition, he has held related responsibilities in other corporate service areas such as corporate communications and government relations.

Len holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Administration degree from the University of Regina, as well as a Certified Human Resources Professional designation. He has served on non-profit boards and as a Trustee of several major pension plans, and holds an Institute of Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D).

Lynda Cranston

Ms. Cranston is an accomplished healthcare executive with over 20 years of leadership expertise including experience as Board Chair and as a President and Chief Executive Officer.  She is a seasoned director with a significant background in board governance and has an ICD.D designation as a member with the Institute of Corporate Directors.

She was identified in 2013 by the Board Diversity Council as one of Canada’s most board-ready candidates. Her previous Board experience included being Chair of the Emergency Health Services Commission and Health Shared Services BC. Ms. Cranston was also a governor of the BC Business Council. Ms. Cranston has been a director in more than 15 additional organizations, frequently as Chair.

Ms. Cranston has been identified numerous times as one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women Top 100. She is also a recipient of the YWCA Women of Distinction Award, the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Commemorative Medal for community contributions and the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for contribution to Canada and community.
