CMBC Board of Directors

The Board of Directors provides general oversight to the management of CMBC with respect to strategic planning, annual budgets, performance reporting and the hiring of the President & General Manager. The Board is comprised of three directors appointed by the TransLink Board, and meets on a quarterly basis.

Cathy McLay

Board Chair

Cathy is an award winning executive with extensive experience with reorganizational structures, mergers, acquisitions, change management and divestitures.

While CFO and EVP, Finance and Corporate Services at TransLink, she won the Business in Vancouver 2013 CFO of the Year in the Transformation Agents category. Prior to TransLink, she served as the General Manager for Canadian Forest Products Ltd., as well as the Corporate Controller for Howe Sound Pulp and Paper Limited Partnership. Cathy was also the acting secretary for the Board of Directors and a member of many Executive Steering Committees such as Fiber, Health Safety and Environment and Oracle Financial Project. In addition, she served as the Regional Controller for Canadian Forest Products Ltd. in Prince George and as a Senior Field Accountant for Deloitte & Touche.

An International Certified Business Coach, Cathy is a Certified Management Accountant, and holds a Business Administration diploma in Finance and Accounting.

Previously, Cathy served on the Board of Directors for Vancouver Coastal Health and as Director and President of the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Corporation.

Anne Kinvig

Anne is a seasoned senior executive with 30 years of leadership experience, most recently in the position of Chief Operating Officer with Pacific Blue Cross. In this capacity, Anne’s primary responsibility was ensuring the efficient operations of Pacific Blue Cross, utilizing Lean methodology, focusing on the customer experience and overseeing the operations of BC Life & Casualty Company. Prior to this role, Anne held leadership positions in the area of Human Resources and Labour Relations, both at Pacific Blue Cross and Canadian Airlines.

Anne possesses a strong understanding of board governance and oversight. She holds an ICD.D certification (Institute of Corporate Directors) and in addition to CMBC, she serves on the Board of Directors for E-Comm 911, Pacific Salmon Endowment Fund Society, and the Canadian Mental Health Association North and West Vancouver Branch.

Anne has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Industrial Relations from the University of British Columbia.

Sany Zein

Sany is the Vice President of Infrastructure Management and Engineering at TransLink, where he oversees an asset portfolio valued at $13.5 billion, and an annual capital program worth $1 billion. He is responsible for capital project delivery, major project development, TransLink’s Infrastructure Project Management Office, road and bicycle infrastructure funding programs, operations and maintenance for three major bridges, and the enterprise asset management program.

Sany is a registered Professional Engineer with more than 25 years of experience in the private and public sectors, including project experience throughout Canada and the United States.

Sany has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the American University of Beirut and a Master of Transportation Engineering degree from the University of British Columbia.
