Haydn Acheson

Interim President & General Manager
BCRTC

Haydn brings a wealth of senior leadership experience and decades in the transportation industry to his role of President and General Manager of British Columbia Rapid Transit Company.

An accomplished airline captain, Haydn has flown thousands of hours in aircraft such as the Boeing 767 and AirBus 320. He has held several senior executive and management positions with Canadian Airlines, Air Canada, Harmony Airways, and DTKH, including Vice-President Operations, Vice-President Customer Service and Operations, and Vice-President, Flight Operations. He was the Canadian Airlines senior executive in charge of the operational transition of Canadian Airlines into Air Canada.

Haydn has an extensive labour relations background, including grievances, arbitrations, and contract bargaining. He is results-oriented and is always looking for opportunities to improve processes and deliver excellent customer service.

Haydn is also an active community member. He recently completed an eight-year term on the board for the Law Society of British Columbia and is a tribunal panel member on the Employment and Assistance Appeal Tribunal. He is a former aviation Board member for the Exchange Income Corporation in Winnipeg, and was the City of Richmond’s representative on the YVR Noise Committee, and a member of the Richmond Family and Youth Court Watch Committee and the City of Richmond Advisory Committee for the Environment.

Haydn holds a Bachelor of Education degree from UBC and completed the UBC Residential Executive Development Program.


Mike Richard

Vice President, Operations
BCRTC

Since 2001, Mike has been Vice-President of Operations, responsible for all rail operations in the region, including the Expo and Millennium Lines and West Coast Express commuter rail service. On behalf of TransLink, he also oversaw management of the 30-year operating agreement with the private operator of the Canada Line.

Mike is one of BCRTC's original employees, and has over 35 years of public transit experience in Metro Vancouver. Mike joined BCRTC as a Station Attendant prior to the Expo Line launch, and progressed through the organization to his current position.


Tracy Bolognese

Tracy Bolognese

Executive Director of Finance and Corporate Services
BCRTC

Tracy originally joined BCRTC in 2011 as the Manager of Finance. Two years later, she became Director of Finance. She assumed her current position as Executive Director of Finance and Corporate Services in January of 2018. Tracy oversees accounting, financial reporting and planning, payroll, purchasing and inventory, training and occupational health. She also serves as the Corporate Secretary at BCRTC and West Coast Express along with being the privacy officer for TransLink’s Privacy Committee.

Tracy is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and she holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia. In addition, she was a part of TransLink’s inaugural LEAN Academy class that focuses on the philosophy of continuous improvement. She obtained her LEAN Green Belt Certificate in December 2017.

Interim Vice President for Engineering and Maintenance

Ho Chun Lau originally joined BCRTC in 2017 as the Director of Asset Management and soon after Director of Asset Management and Engineering. His current position is Interim Vice President for Engineering and Maintenance. Ho started his career as a Development Engineer in the Retail Security Industry in the UK where he designed and developed CCTV and Data communication products in 1994. His railway career started in 2002, as a design engineer at Bombardier, Derby, UK. In 2004 he joined Alstom to help improve the reliability of the Northern Line London Underground trains before joining Serco Docklands in 2006 where he spent 8 years delivering the B2007 fleet and helped to prepare the Docklands Light Railway for the 2012 London Olympics by achieving over 99% reliability performance. In 2015 he left UK to move to Singapore to refurbish the C651 fleet of trains for SMRT before moving to Canada to join BCRTC in 2017.
