Northeast Sector Area Transit Plan

TransLink has started updating the Northeast Sector Area Transit Plan. The plan will identify a 30-year transit vision and transit priorities for the next 1-10 years for the municipalities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra.

The area transit plan process is an opportunity for stakeholders and the public to have their say on the future of transit in the Northeast Sector. The planning process will take approximately 18 months and include four general phases:

  • Phase 1 - Issues and opportunities
  • Phase 2 - Long-term vision
  • Phase 3 - Near-term priorities
  • Phase 4 - Annual monitoring and reporting

Learn more about what an area transit plan is by visiting our Area Transit Plans Program Overview page.

Be Part of the Plan!

From May 31 to June 14, 2013, we hosted an online survey to gather input from the community on key issues and opportunities for transit in the Northeast Sector. Thanks to everyone who took the survey!

The responses we received will be incorporated into our Phase 1 report, which will include ridership information from our automated passenger counters, a review of current and expected land use and an analysis of travel patterns from our Trip Diary and census.

Phase 1 will be wrapped up by fall 2013, and we'll post the report here when it's ready. You'll have an opportunity to get involved in Phase 2 of the plan around the same time.

Stay tuned!
