Car Sharing
2010 Winter Games Information
We recommend that drivers Park & Ride, Ride-share or Carpool in February 2010 to reduce cars on the road and parking in the city. Whether you're commuting to work, getting around town or going to a 2010 Games event, consider ride-sharing. For drivers coming to downtown Vancouver during the Games, we recommend that you travel outside peak times - arrive downtown before 7 a.m. and leave before 2 p.m. or after 7 p.m.
Access to a Car When You Need it
Car Sharing is a great way to gain access to a vehicle when you really need one, without the hassles and ongoing costs of owning and maintaining a car yourself. It allows you to continue using sustainable modes of transportation (like transit, walking or cycling) for most of your trips, but gives you access to one, or often a fleet, of vehicles for those times when a car is necessary. Carshare vehicles can be found in residential neighbourhoods, as well as in the downtown core.
Why Carshare?
- Reduce the number of vehicles on the road.
- Reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions.
- Save the cost of purchasing a car, insurance, and ongoing maintenance.
Share a Company Car
A subsidiary of the Co-operative Auto Network, the Company Car has a fleet of vehicles available at various locations throughout Metro Vancouver. Your company benefits from easy and affordable access to a car whenever they need it, and will save money on taxis, parking and the costs of maintaining their own fleet of vehicles.
