HandyDART, our door-to-door shared-ride service, makes going places easier. It uses specially-equipped vehicles designed to carry passengers with physical or cognitive disabilities who need assistance to use public transit.
HandyDART's service provider (MVT Canadian Bus) operates 338 buses via a centralized service centre that is available 18 hours a day.
We’ll pick you up at the outside door of your residence and drop you off at the outside door of your destination.

Am I Eligible?
If you have a physical or cognitive disability and are unable to use public transit without assistance, you’re eligible to use HandyDART.
How do I sign up for HandyDART?
If you want to use HandyDART, please print the Application Form or contact the Access Transit office at 778.452.2860. You’ll need to provide information on the form about your date of birth, home address, doctor's name and phone number and any special medical facts affecting your use of HandyDART. All this information is necessary to match your travel needs to our service, and remains confidential.

Types of Mobility Devices
The wheelchair lifts on HandyDART vehicles can accommodate devices that fit within the following measurements:
- Width: 94 cm (37 in.)
- Length: 122 cm (48 in.)
- Weight: 364kg (800 lbs.) when the device is occupied and includes the HandyDART driver
Booking or Cancelling a Trip
To book or cancel a trip on HandyDART, call 604.575.6600
Trip reservations can be made up to seven days in advance, and should be made at least one day in advance.
If you need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible. This let's us accommodate another customer who may have been denied a trip!
HandyDART offers two types of service:

Subscription trips: trips that are taken regularly daily or weekly.

Casual trips: trips taken on a one-time basis.
Customers who book a trip with HandyDART will receive:
- an automated phone call to remind you of your next day trip; if you need to cancel a trip you can do so at that time
- a phone call to your home shortly before your ride arrives to pick you up
To avoid delays, please be ready 15 minutes before your scheduled pickup appointment. If your driver has not arrived 15 minutes after your scheduled time, call HandyDART at 604.575.6600 and press number 3 for “Where’s My Ride” information.
Pets on HandyDART
Pets are not permitted on HandyDART with the exception of Assistance Animals.

Please note: regular Adult fares apply regardless of age. Concession tickets are not valid on HandyDART.

To travel with HandyDART you can pay with cash, full fare FareSaver tickets, or full fare monthly FareCards. Drivers do not carry change, so please have the correct amount when you board. If you use transit frequently, consider buying a FareSavers booklet or a monthly FareCard in preparation for your rides. This will make travelling easier and will save you money.

Where to Buy Your Tickets
Adult FareSavers and FareCards are available at any FareDealer, including 7-Eleven, Mac's, and many London Drugs and Safeway stores. Just look for the FareDealer sign.

Government Funded Annual Bus Pass
If you’re from BC and qualify for additional assistance from the BC Ministry of Housing and Social Development, you may be eligible for a discounted yearly bus pass. Please note that this Government funded bus pass is NOT accepted on HandyDART.
