Committee Eligibility Requirements

Would you like to provide advice and guidance to TransLink on accessibility issues throughout Metro Vancouver's transportation system?

The role of the Committee is to assist TransLink in ensuring the implementation of the Access Transit Plan and provide ongoing advice on all plans, programs and other initiatives that TransLink funds such as:

  • Advise TransLink on matters which will enhance accessibility.
  • Assist TransLink in determining whether its measures are inclusive or exclusive of persons with disabilities and/or seniors.
  • Assist TransLink in setting priorities on accessibility issues.
  • Provide comments on TransLink policies and strategy.

Committee members will be expected to promote accessibility awareness and work toward solving accessibility issues through creative, open-minded and inclusive thinking.

Committee members must be:

  • a user of the TransLink system.
  • at least 18 years of age.
  • a person with a physical, sensory or cognitive disability, or
  • a senior (defined as age 60+), or
  • a parent, guardian or caregiver of a person with a disability, or
  • representatives for people with disabilities who attend educational institutions, people with disabilities from medical service agencies, or people with disabilities from social service agencies supporting or representing immigrants and new Canadians.

Please note that although the committee is normally expected to meet five times per year, they may meet more frequently based on need.
