Evergreen Line

evergreen_line_logoThe Evergreen Line is a new rapid transit line that will connect Coquitlam to Vancouver via Port Moody and Burnaby.

It will be a fast, frequent and convenient SkyTrain service, connecting Coquitlam City Centre through Port Moody to Lougheed Town Centre in approximately 13 minutes. The Evergreen Line will seamlessly connect to the current SkyTrain network, including the Expo and Millennium Lines, and will integrate with the Canada Line and with regional bus and West Coast Express networks.

The Evergreen Line project was approved in fall 2011 by the Mayors' Council as part of the Moving Forward 2012 Supplemental Plan. The project, now in the pre-construction phase, is expected to be in service in summer 2016.

The total project cost for the Evergreen Line is estimated to be $1.4 billion. Funding is being provided by the Province of British Columbia, the Government of Canada and TransLink. The Province is contributing $583 million and will also oversee construction of the project. The Government of Canada is contributing up to $417 million. TransLink is contributing $400 million and will operate the Evergreen Line when it's complete.
