GoCard
A GoCard strip transforms an ordinary student I.D. card into a GoCard that entitles the registered user to Concession fares. You can then travel across Metro Vancouver by bus, SkyTrain, SeaBus or West Coast Express for a reduced price.
To receive the Concession fare, show your GoCard whenever you board a transit vehicle. You should have your GoCard ready for inspection at all times when riding within fare paid zones, or you’ll have to pay the adult fare.
Who's Eligible?
Secondary students attending classes full time in a public or private school aged 14 to 19 years old (inclusive) from Grade 8 to 12 (inclusive) or enrolled in Grade 8 at the start of the school year.
Getting a GoCard
Your GoCard photograph will be taken at an in-school photography session. The card will be issued approximately two weeks later. There is no charge for GoCards issued at these in-school sessions, so make sure you don't miss yours.
Missed the Photo Session? Don’t sweat it.
If you missed your school’s GoCard Photo Session, there are plenty of other chances to have your picture taken.
A GoCard can be issued immediately at one of the following locations. You must pay a fee of $11.00, and you must have a GoCard application form (available at school offices) signed by a school official along with proof of age (birth certificate, passport or CareCard).
