FareSaver Tickets
2010 Winter Games Information
FareSaver tickets are valid during the Games, however you may want to buy a six-week 2010 Games Transit Pass as a 2010 Winter Games keepsake that offers unlimited bus, SeaBus and SkyTrain travel from February 8 - March 21, 2010.
FareSaver Tickets are a book of ten TransLink tickets that can be used on the Bus, SeaBus or SkyTrain. They offer savings over buying single fares.
For example, buying 10 single fare tickets for 1 zone will cost you $25, while using FareSaver tickets costs only $19, saving 25%. On a daily basis, travel to and from work in one zone will cost you $5.00 per day paying with cash, or $3.80 using FareSaver tickets.
Each FareSaver lets you travel for up to 90 minutes across Metro Vancouver. You can hop off for errands and then hop back on again.
You can travel for one, two or three zones by Bus, SeaBus or SkyTrain. Tickets for the West Coast Express must be purchased separately as they are priced differently.
Canada Line YVR AddFare Effective for Cash Fares Beginning January 18, 2010
The Canada Line YVR AddFare for rapid transit service from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) will be in effect starting Monday, January 18. The $5 AddFare will apply to anyone purchasing cash fare tickets at any of the Canada Line stations at the airport for travel from the airport to Richmond or Vancouver. Ticket vending machines at the Canada Line airport stations will automatically charge the correct amount.
People carrying any TransLink pass (DayPasses, Monthly FareCards or annual passes such as the U-Pass, Government Bus Pass or Employer Pass) or using pre-paid FareSaver tickets won't need to pay the AddFare.
Remember to keep your valid Canada Line YVR AddFare ticket for inspection purposes. Valid proof of payment is always required in any Fare Paid Zone.
