Compass Cards and Products

Compass is the durable, reloadable, electronic fare card that works everywhere on transit in Metro Vancouver. When Compass arrives in 2013, the easy-to-use card will replace all our current passes and tickets. Compass cards can be loaded with the fare product of your choosing, or you can add stored value and pay as you go. For your convenience, you'll be able to add products or stored value to your card at Compass vending machines, online, by phone, or at a customer service centre.

Here's a sneak-peak at the new cards and products.

Fare Products

Stored Value

Adding "stored value" is just like adding cash to your card – it will replace the FareSavers you use now, and it's perfect for single trip use. You can load stored value at Compass Vending Machines, online, by phone, and at the Compass Customer Service Centre.

Monthly Passes

Compass will make getting your one, two or three-zone monthly pass even more convenient – as you'll be able to easily load a pass online, by phone, or at Compass Vending Machines, and set automatic pass renewals via "AutoLoad" (available with card registration).

DayPasses

Compass DayPasses will be sold as Compass tickets, and will be available at Compass Vending Machines, and other key locations. Other strategic points of sale are also being considered, especially to serve visitors. Customers will also be able to load DayPasses onto their Compass card via the vending machines, online, or by phone.

Paying Direct with Cash

Customers will still be able to pay by cash for single-rides on SkyTrain, SeaBus, West Coast Express and buses. Compass vending machines will issue electronic tickets, good for all transfers. The same 90-minute transfer limit applies.

Where to Buy

Compass cards will be available for purchase at all SeaBus, West Coast Express, and SkyTrain vending machines, as well as at Compass Retailers, online or by phone. Compass tickets will be sold at all Compass vending machines.

Note: Concession Compass cards will not be sold at Compass Vending Machines.
