Highway 99 (Sea to Sky)

Highway 99 provides a direct route from the Canada/US border through Vancouver to Squamish, Whistler, and the BC interior.

It runs north-south from the US border (Peace Arch) through Metro Vancouver and up to the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal as Highway 99 South. From there it becomes Highway 99 North (Sea to Sky) up to Squamish and Whistler, terminating upon connecting with Hwy 97 (north of Cache Creek).

Through the Sea to Sky Highway Improvement Project, portions of the highway are currently being widened to three lanes. Additional improvements include four lanes of highway from West Vancouver to Lions Bay as well as from Murrin Park to Squamish.

Highway 99A, also known as the King George Highway and Kingsway in Metro Vancouver, weaves through Surrey, Burnaby and Vancouver. It rejoins Highway 99 at Georgia St. in downtown Vancouver.   Highway 99 and 99A are owned by the BC Ministry of Transportation and maintained by Mainroad Contracting Limited.
