North Shore Area Transit Plan Overview
Area transit planning for the North Shore is underway to guide transit service and infrastructure investments and coordinate transportation and land use. The goal is a 50% increase in transit's current share of all North Shore travel by 2040. The plan will also help put the region on track to achieving our ambitious Transport 2040 goals.
Building on the 2000 North Shore Area Transit Plan, which has now been substantially implemented, the new plan will define a 30-year transit vision and identify service and infrastructure improvements to be prioritized in the near-term (within ten years).
The process is taking place over four phases.
TransLink is working together with local, regional and provincial governments, First Nations, stakeholders, residents, businesses and the broader public throughout the process. Please read the Backgrounder and FAQ to learn more about the North Shore Area Transit Plan, what happens in each phase and how the plan fits into TransLink's overall investment plans.
