TransLink Busker Auditions: Successful Applicants

New licensees for TransLink Musicians Program announced
11 chosen from 48 applicants
TransLink’s annual auditions for the Musicians’ Program – popularly called “So You Think You Can Busk?” – has found 11 acts to join the 31 buskers performing at SkyTrain stations in Vancouver.
In no particular order, the successful applicants are (an asterisk indicates the performers’ audition can be seen on video on the TransLink Buzzer Blog 2012 Busker Auditions
Katie Yurychuk – guitar and vocals
Joanne Wang – Er-hu player
Dustin Hauschild – guitar and vocals
David Morin – Guitar and vocals
Luis Rodriguez –Guitar – Latin American and Mexican folk * (4:04 on the video)
Anton Sitnikov – Guitar
Mike Sullivan – Guitar
Benjamin and Graham Dawson – Guitar and vocals * (7:40)
Camille Fournier and Angela Sartoretto – Harp and vocals
Tom Paleczka – guitar and vocals
Liam Watson and Matt Canute – Bassoon and Guitar
Busking licenses are good from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013. Performers will be put on a rotation around six locations: Waterfront Station (Howe Street entrance, near Canada Place); SkyWalk (the overhead walkway to the south SeaBus terminal); Vancouver City Centre Station; Burrard Station; Granville Station and Commercial-Broadway Station.
