North Shore Area Transit Plan Moves to Next Stage
February 01, 2012
Public comment invited at workshops and online
Consultations to help shape the coming decade of transit investments on the North Shore will begin in February, as TransLink opens the third phase of the North Shore Area Transit Plan. The two previous phases led to the development of a long-term (30 year) transit vision for the sub-region, and phase three will now identify and evaluate the near-term (up to 10 year) service and infrastructure projects to begin moving toward that vision.
During the upcoming consultation, members of the public will be asked to provide feedback on draft evaluation criteria, as well as identify their own transit priorities for the North Shore. Planning and consultation staff will be on-hand to discuss the proposed projects, answer questions and respond to concerns. Further consultation will follow again in the spring when the public will be asked to provide feedback on the project evaluation results.
Details of the projects identified to date, as well as the draft evaluation criteria, will be posted on TransLink’s North Shore Area Transit Plan webpage on February 6, when online consultation begins. Online comments will be welcome through March 9.
For those able to attend in person, the two workshops will take place:
