Dale Parker
Board Chair
Mr. Parker has been self-employed as a corporate director since 1998. He currently serves on the boards of Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, GrowthWorks Ltd., Century Mining Ltd., UBC Investment Management Trust Inc. and Encorp Pacific [Canada]. Prior to January 1998 he was president and CEO of the Workers’ Compensation Board of British Columbia; president of White Spot Limited and executive vice-president of Shato Holdings Ltd. and chairman and CEO of British Columbia Financial Institutions Commission. He has also held positions as president and CEO, Bank of British Columbia and executive vice-president, Bank of Montreal.
Mr. Parker is active with a number of charitable and non-profit organizations, including; chair, Pacific Parkinsons Research Institute, vice-chair, Vancouver Police Board and a member of the BC Cancer Research Centre Building Committee. Recent and past community work includes: chair, BC Cancer Agency, vice-chair, BC Cancer Foundation, chair, Four Corners Community Savings, vice-president Kidney Foundation of Canada, vice-president, BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities, and chair, Industry Training and Apprenticeship Commission of British Columbia.
Mr. Parker is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program of the Graduate School of Business Administration, Harvard University.

James Bruce
Mr. Bruce is a partner of Capital West Partners, an independent firm providing investment banking services to mid market clients in Western Canada. As well, he is currently serving as the chair of the 2010 Games Operating Trust Society, the Great Northern Way Campus Trust and a private company, Genus Capital Management Inc. Mr. Bruce is also a member of the investment committee of Ecotrust Canada.
His past affiliations include chair of the British Columbia Assessment Authority and the Vancouver Opera Association and director and/or trustee of Travelers Leasing Corporation, Rainmaker Income Fund, DTI Dental Technologies Inc., Scott Paper Ltd, TimberWest Timber Trust, Canadian Hotel Income Properties Real Estate Investment Trust and Okanagan Skeena Group Limited.
Prior to joining Capital West Partners in 2002, Mr. Bruce held investment banking positions as managing director, TD Securities Inc. and vice-president and director, RBC Dominion Securities Inc.
Mr. Bruce holds both a Bachelor of Science degree (Mechanical Engineering) and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Manitoba. He is also a certified management accountant, chartered business valuator and professional engineer (retired).

Cindy Chan Piper
Ms. Chan Piper is the principal of piper designs inc., a consulting firm that provides planning and design services to public and private sector clients.
Ms. Chan Piper has extensive experience in both architecture and urban planning. She has a thorough understanding of physical design and planning issues, coupled with a solid understanding of municipal procedures.
Her clientele includes many of the municipalities in the Metro Vancouver. Prior to this, she held positions as a community planner with the City of Vancouver and development planner with City of Richmond.
Ms. Chan Piper is active with a number of charitable and non-profit organizations including current and recent involvement in Vancouver Non-Partisan Association, director; McDonald School Grounds Greening Project, vice-chair, Board of Governors, Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and Community Advisory Board, Equal Opportunity Secretariat.
Ms. Chan Piper is a member of Canadian Institute of Planners, Planning Institute of British Columbia, Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and Intern Architect, Architectural Institute of British Columbia. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from the University of British Columbia.
Ms. Chan Piper is a long-time transit user.

W John Dawson
Mr. W John Dawson is an experienced professional accountant and business advisor
with expertise in areas such as risk management, corporate governance and business
expansion.
During his 29 years as a Partner with an international accounting firm, Mr. Dawson counseled boards of directors and senior management in a variety of industries,
including BC government agencies and Crown Corporations.
Since 2001, Mr. Dawson has served on the boards of Canadian Blood Services,
Financial Institutions Commission of BC (FICOM), Versacold Income Fund (chair
from 2001 to 2007), Sun Gro Horticulture Income Fund (chair from 2002 to 2009),
IAT Air Cargo Facilities Income Fund (now Huntingdon REIT) (chair from 2008
to 2009) and Parking Corporation of Vancouver (chair from 2008 to 2010).
Over the years, Mr. Dawson volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society (BC
& Yukon division), the Vancouver Symphony Society, the Chancellor's
Borrowing Advisory Committee at UBC and was the inaugural chair of the CA School
of Business for Western Canada.
Mr. Dawson was President of the BC Institute of Chartered Accountants from
1998 to 1999 and was awarded the FCA designation for service to that Institute. In 2004, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Award for service to the Alberta
Institute. He has a B Comm (Accounting) degree from UBC.

R. W. (Bob) Garnett
Mr. Garnett is a Chartered Accountant and an owner of Paradigm Management Partners, Novex Couriers and WPX Couriers.
Previous to this, he was an owner and president of Eaglequest Golf Centers Inc., Chief Financial Officer of the Loewen Group Inc. and held senior financial roles in the residential and commercial real estate industry.
Mr. Garnett served as a director of Coast Capital Savings from 1984 to 2009 including seven years as Chair. He currently serves as a director of Central 1 Credit Union and VRX Worldwide Inc. and has served as a director of W3 Solutions Inc., Helix Hearing Care of America, Redekop Properties Inc., Pallet Pallet Inc. and The Loewen Group Inc.
Mr. Garnett has completed the Director Education Program, Institute of Corporate Directors and earned a Bachelor of Arts (Commerce) from Simon Fraser University.

Sarah Goodman
Ms. Goodman is the Vice President of Business Development and Services for Tides Canada, a provider of innovative philanthropic, financial and project management services. Ms. Goodman provides strategic and business development leadership with specific accountability for client services, project development and oversight, programs and grant-making, evaluation, communications and fundraising.
Ms. Goodman’s past positions include Director of Corporate Affairs for Teck Cominco Limited, Canada’s largest diversified mining company. Before joining Teck, Ms. Goodman spent eight years with Weyerhaeuser Company Limited, where she held a number of senior executive roles, including Vice President of Government and Public Affairs and then Vice President of Transactions in the company’s acquisitions and divestitures group.
Ms. Goodman earned a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Warwick, Coventry, UK, and a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University, Ottawa. She is a trustee of the Jack Webster Foundation, a governor of the Coast Mental Health Foundation and a past member of the Board Advisory Committee on Sustainability Performance for VANOC. She is also a past board member of Iisaak Forest Resources Limited, a First Nations led eco-forestry business, Clayoquot Sound, B.C.

Howard Nemtin
Mr. Nemtin is the president and owner of Nemtin Consultants Ltd. a real estate development and consulting company with over thirty years experience in British Columbia. His experience includes real estate development consulting to the Whistler Mountain Ski Corporation where he was responsible for real estate strategy, including maximizing the value of land holdings, real estate marketing and implementation of all development projects. He has also served as an economic development advisor to the British Columbia Ministry of Economic Development and member of the planning and development team for the new community of Tumbler Ridge and other expanding resource communities.
Mr. Nemtin is a member of the Board and the Chair of the Finance Committee of the Simon Fraser University Community Trust, whose mandate is the development of a sustainable community adjacent to Simon Fraser University on Burnaby Mountain. He is also active on the boards of numerous not-for-profit arts organizations and private sector companies. He is commercial mediator, a member of the British Columbia Mediator Roster and an executive member of the Commercial Mediator’s Association.
Mr. Nemtin holds a Bachelor of Science from York University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario.

Nancy Olewiler
Ms. Olewiler is a professor in the Department of Economics and director of the Graduate Public Policy Program in the Faculty of Arts at Simon Fraser University. Her degrees, all in economics, are an Honours B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University, M.A. from SFU, and a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia in 1975.
Ms. Olewiler’s research has focused in recent years on sustainability, environmental policy and its impact on the economy, and international aspects of environmental policy. She has published a variety of academic papers, texts and policy studies in the areas of tax policy, natural resources, and environmental economics.
From 1990 to 1995 she was managing editor of Canadian Public Policy, and from 1996 to 1998 she served as a member of the Technical Committee on Business Taxation, created by the federal Finance Minister to propose major reforms to business taxation in Canada. She currently serves as a director of BC Hydro and is a resource person for the Environment and Economy Program for Southeast Asia.

David Unruh
Mr. Unruh (B.A., LLB) currently serves as a director of Union Gas Limited, Pacific Northern Gas Inc., Ontario Power Generation Inc., Corriente Resources Inc., Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company and the Globe Foundation.
Mr. Unruh has previously served as vice chairman of Westcoast Energy Inc and Union Gas Limited, senior vice-president and general counsel for Houston based Duke Energy Gas Transmission and senior vice-president, Law and corporate secretary of Westcoast Energy Inc.
Prior to joining Westcoast Energy Inc. in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1993, Mr. Unruh practiced corporate and commercial law in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
