Bike Parking

Cycling to a transit station is a great way to commute. If you cycle to a station there are four ways to park your bike.

On this page

  • Bike Parkades: indoor facilities for customers with multiple bike racks inside.

  • Bike Lockers: a reserved locker for your bike.

  • Bike Racks: outdoor racks for locking your bike up.

  1. Lock your bike to an unoccupied designated rack space. Bikes weighing over 18 kg (40 lb) must use bottom racks.

  2. TransLink reserves the right to remove your bike if it is not locked to a designated rack at all times.

  3. Do not allow entry to any unauthorized persons. Ensure that the door completely closes behind you when entering/exiting the Bike Parkade.

  4. To ensure Bike Parkade racks are available when needed, long term bicycle storage is not permitted. Bikes left for longer than four days will be considered abandoned, tagged, and removed without notice.

  5. Storage of personal items and perishable or combustible materials is prohibited. All personal items will be removed.

    • Contact TransLink’s Lost Property Office at 604-953-3334 if your bike or personal property has been removed from a Bike Parkade.

  6. Only bikes, e-bikes, and cargo bikes are permitted to be stored inside Bike Parkades.

    • E-scooters, electric- and Vespa-style scooters, and gas-powered scooters are not permitted to be stored inside Bike Parkades.

  7. Users are responsible for any damage caused to the Bike Parkade itself or of any theft, loss, removal, or damage to items left in the facilities.

  8. Report any damage, security, or maintenance issues to the appropriate authorities listed below.

    • Contact Customer Information for Bike Parkade maintenance and damage at 604.953.3333

    • Contact Transit Police for stolen items by texting 87.77.77 (Note: standard carrier text messaging rates may apply)

  9. Neither TransLink nor its operating subsidiaries are responsible for theft, loss, removal, or damage to any items stored in a Bike Parkade.

Starting Jan. 26, 2023, we’re removing forgotten and abandoned bikes from Bike Parkades to maintain accessible and easy-to-use facilities for active cyclists.

Bike Parkades are meant for day-use only, not long-term storage. We ask Bike Parkade users to help fellow cyclists who need day-use Bike Parkades to seamlessly transfer between cycling and transit.

To alert bike owners of any pending removal, TransLink staff will attach a removal notification tag on bikes and other items two weeks before they’re removed and donated.

A bike owner who discovers a removal notification tag on their bike, and who wishes to continue using the Bike Parkades for permitted day-use only, may dispose of the removal notification tag and continue using the Bike Parkades on a daily basis provided that the bike is removed from the applicable Bike Parkade at the end of each day.

Removed bikes will be donated to the PEDAL Society to find a new home unless reported as stolen, in which case the Transit Police will contact the owner to arrange a pick-up.

Moving forward, clean outs will occur biannually and follow the same procedure.
